Quavo Celebrates High School Graduation With New Song ‘Need It’

Prior to pursuing his music career, the Migos rapper was a football star at Berkmar High School for nearly 10 years ago, but he decided to drop out of school just months before his graduation.

AceShowbizQuavo is finally a proud high school graduate. The Migos member, who previously choose his music dreams over academics, took to his Instagram account on Thursday, May 21 to share with his followers that he had earned his high school diploma.

Alongside a set of high school graduation photos, the 29-year-old Grammy winner bragged about his newly-accomplished milestone. “Finally Can Say I Graduated High School Class Of QUARANTINE 2020,” so he captioned the pictures. “Now What College Should I Go To?”

As a musician, there’s no better way to celebrate his graduation other than with the release of a new song. “And To Celebrate We Gonna Drop SMASH TONIGHT BERKMAR HIGH NAWFSIDE BABY,” so Huncho announced, referring to his new song “Need It” featuring his Migos teammates Offset and Takeoff as well as YoungBoy Never Broke Again a.k.a. NBA YoungBoy.

Prior to pursuing his music career, Quavo was a football star at Berkmar High School for nearly 10 years ago. The rapper, however, decided to drop out of school just months before his graduation.

Fellow hip-hop stars flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages. 2 Chainz wrote, “Congrats cho,” while Lil Yachty said, “Happy for u bro congrats.” Quality Control Music CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas also chimed in, leaving a trophy emoji.

His post apparently served as a motivation for fellow rapper Smokepurpp, who commented, “Congrats. I gotta do the same.” As for comedienne Amanda Seales, she said, “This made me so happy I can’t even handle it. CONGRATULATIONS HUNCHO!!!!!!”

Fans also praised Quavo for it as one of them noted, “Beautiful example that you are setting for the youth that follow and believe in YOU.” Another fan raved, “Congratulations, respect ,may the influence help spread , how important it is to get that diploma or GED , bless up!! Knowledge is power !!!!”

Hundreds of College Grads Receive News Via Zoom That Their College Debt Has Been Paid Off

A regular Zoom call for alumni of an academics-inclined nonprofit turned into one they’ll never forget after they learned anonymous donors had shelled out $8 million to pay off their student loans.

Alumni of the nonprofit Students Rising Above received the life-altering news in a Zoom call with SRA CEO Elizabeth Devaney this month.

“What I want to share with you today is that anonymous SRA donors have presented us with a remarkable gift — donations up to $8 million with the intent to eliminate student loan debt on more than 400 students,” Devaney said.

As her words sunk in, the students slowly began to realize what this meant for them, and some smiled in shock while others wiped tears from their eyes or danced in celebration.

“Are you kidding me?” students can be heard shouting. “This isn’t a joke, right?”

SRA serves low-income, often first-generation students in the Bay Area’s nine counties, and helps them get to college by offering personal guidance and mentoring, internships and career advice and financial support.

Among those who will now have their debt paid off is Zachary Tabb, a 35-year-old pediatric resident at Baylor College of Medicine who has more than $100,000 in student loans.

“My mind was spinning, trying to process what a non-debt life was,” he told Good Morning America. “Basically I’ve carried around some form of educational debt my entire adult life… To all of a sudden hear, ‘Well, you don’t have to do that anymore,’ it’s like, ‘What? Say that again to me.’”

Tabb told the outlet that he discovered SRA when he was a senior in high school with no plans to go to college. The nonprofit helped place him in a fellowship that allowed him to attend school, which he says changed the whole path of his life.

Kimberly Armstrong, another SRA alumnus, told KPIX that the generous gift is helping to relieve her of nearly $300,000 in loans.

“I’m shocked. I almost don’t believe it,” she told the outlet. “It’s a relief. Once you start kind of settling in, there’s this weight that comes off of you. Literally, it’s a weight lifted.”

SRA’s Head of Programs Lorna Contreras-Townsend said the average SRA scholar graduates with around $8,000 in student loans, KPIX reported.

To be eligible for the donation, alumni must have graduated or be scheduled to graduate by Jan. 31, 2021.

“With student loans increasingly becoming a financial burden, SRA is grateful for the opportunity to facilitate relief to our hardworking alumni who have become highly productive members of the workforce nationwide,” Devaney said in a statement.

Chris Hughes defends ex Jesy Nelson after Katie Hopkins reignited their feud and trolled her sexy pictures – The Sun

CHRIS Hughes has rushed to the defence of his ex Jesy Nelson after Katie Hopkins reignited their feud by trolling her sexy pictures.

Katie branded the Little Mix star's bikini posts "desperate and weak" and Jesy hit back last night by sharing a new snap and writing: "Have another one hun."

Now her ex boyfriend Chris, 27, has waded into the row and slammed the former Apprentice contestant, 45, after she reposted Jesy's photos for a cruel attack.

He furiously penned: "How about don't be a b***h your whole life and let that person live.

"You tried it once years back, and it affected her mentally, just don't be that a**ehole.

"She has strength, she has beauty, and she has a heart that only you could dream of having."

Katie had once called the Little Mix star "a chubber", with Jesy admitting in her BBC documentary about bullying that the tweet had been a "pinnacle point" leaving her "spiralling out of control".

Mum-of-three Katie had also labelled Jesy's band "Packet Mix" in the bizarre tweet following a performance on the X Factor in 2013.

She wrote at the time: "Packet Mix have still got a chubber in their ranks. Less Little Mix. More Pick n Mix."

Then yesterday, she took aim at the sunger again and Katie wrote on Twitter: "These desperate daily pics are showing that contrivance of a documentary to be darn insincere.

"Girls. Be better than this. Beauty is in strength, not weakness that needs validating daily."

Fans rushed to Jesy's defence, with one writing: "She’s just posting pictures on instagram and ur crying about it leave her alone."

Another added: "Beauty is in confidence and self love. beauty is not bringing other women down."

A third commented: "After everything that you’ve put jesy through how dare you even tweet about her."

But Jesy, 28, wasn't prepared to let Katie get the better of her as she took to Instagram to share another sultry photo.

Revealing her toned, tanned tummy for the snap, Jesy teamed a pair of cargo trousers with a nude crop top.

She finished the look with false lashes and a pretty pink lip.

Jesy appeared to make a subtle dig at Katie, captioning the shot: "Have another one hun 😉."

Chris and Jesy broke up over the phone during lockdown.

But after the Little Mix singer gave him the boot over the phone he told pals he is certain they will get back together once lockdown ends.

An insider said: “Chris is absolutely convinced that he is going to be getting back with Jesy just as soon as isolation ends and they can be together again.

“As far as he is concerned, this split is just temporary and actually it’s more of a break than a break-up.

“Chris is still madly in love with Jesy and is convinced she’s just struggling with being apart from him.

“This situation is stressful for everyone and nothing is normal. There is nothing more Chris wants than to see Jesy face-to-face, but he knows he has to wait until this is over.

Rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Little Richard dead at 87

NASHVILLE — Little Richard, the self-proclaimed “architect of rock ‘n’ roll” whose piercing wail, pounding piano and towering pompadour irrevocably altered popular music while introducing black R&B to white America, has died Saturday. He was 87.

Pastor Bill Minson, a close friend of Little Richard’s, told The Associated Press that Little Richard died Saturday morning. Minson said he also spoke to Little Richard’s son and brother.

Minson added that the family is not releasing the cause of death.

Born Richard Penniman, Little Richard was one of rock ‘n’ roll’s founding fathers who helped shatter the color line on the music charts, joining Chuck Berry and Fats Domino in bringing what was once called “race music” into the mainstream. Richard’s hyperkinetic piano playing, coupled with his howling vocals and hairdo, made him an implausible sensation — a gay, black man celebrated across America during the buttoned-down Eisenhower era.

He sold more than 30 million records worldwide, and his influence on other musicians was equally staggering, from the Beatles and Otis Redding to Creedence Clearwater Revival and David Bowie. In his personal life, he wavered between raunch and religion, alternately embracing the Good Book and outrageous behavior.

“Little Richard? That’s rock ‘n’ roll,” Neil Young, who heard Richard’s riffs on the radio in Canada, told biographer Jimmy McDonough. “Little Richard was great on every record.”

It was 1956 when his classic “Tutti Frutti” landed like a hand grenade in the Top 40, exploding from radios and off turntables across the country. It was highlighted by Richard’s memorable call of “wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-lop-bam-boom.”

A string of hits followed, providing the foundation of rock music: “Lucille,” “Keep A Knockin’,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Good Golly Miss Molly.” More than 40 years after the latter charted, Bruce Springsteen was still performing “Good Golly Miss Molly” live.

The Beatles’ Paul McCartney imitated Richard’s signature yelps — perhaps most notably in the “Wooooo!” from the hit “She Loves You.” Ex-bandmate John Lennon covered Richard’s “Rip It Up” and “Ready Teddy” on the 1975 “Rock and Roll” album.

When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame opened in 1986, he was among the charter members with Elvis Presley, Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam Cooke and others.

Few were quicker to acknowledge Little Richard’s seminal role than Richard himself. The flamboyant singer claimed he paved the way for Elvis, provided Mick Jagger with his stage moves and conducted vocal lessons for McCartney.

“I am the architect of rock ‘n’ roll!” Little Richard crowed at the 1988 Grammy Awards as the crowd rose in a standing ovation. “I am the originator!”

Richard Wayne Penniman was born in Macon, Georgia, during the Great Depression, one of 12 children. He was ostracized because he was effeminate and suffered a small deformity: his right leg was shorter than his left.

The family was religious, and Richard sang in local churches with a group called the Tiny Tots. The tug-of-war between his upbringing and rock ‘n’ roll excess tormented Penniman throughout his career.

Penniman was performing with bands by the age of 14, but there were problems at home over his sexual orientation. His father beat the boy and derided him as “half a son.”

Richard left home to join a minstrel show run by a man known as Sugarloaf Sam, occasionally appearing in drag.

In late 1955, Little Richard recorded the bawdy “Tutti Frutti,” with lyrics that were sanitized by a New Orleans songwriter. It went on to sell 1 million records over the next year.

When Little Richard’s hit was banned by many white-owned radio stations, white performers like Pat Boone and Elvis Presley did cover versions that topped the charts.

Little Richard went Hollywood with an appearance in “Don’t Knock the Rock.” But his wild lifestyle remained at odds with his faith, and a conflicted Richard quit the business in 1957 to enroll in a theological school and get married.

Richard remained on the charts when his label released previously recorded material. And he recorded a gospel record, returning to his roots.

A 1962 arrest for a homosexual encounter in a bus station restroom led to his divorce and return to performing.

He mounted three tours of England between 1962 and 1964, with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones serving as opening acts. Back in the States, he put together a band that included guitarist Jimi Hendrix — and later fired Hendrix when he was late for a bus.

In 1968, Richard hit Las Vegas and relaunched his career. Within two years, he had another hit single and made the cover of Rolling Stone.

By the mid-1970s, Richard was battling a $1,000-a-day cocaine problem and once again abandoned his musical career. He returned to religion, selling Bibles and renouncing homosexuality. For more than a decade, he vanished.

“If God can save an old homosexual like me, he can save anybody,” Richard said.

But he returned, in 1986, in spectacular fashion. Little Richard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and appeared in the movie “Down and Out in Beverly Hills.”

A Little Richard song from the soundtrack, “Great Gosh A’Mighty,” even put him back on the charts for the first time in more than 15 years. Little Richard was back to stay, enjoying another dose of celebrity that he fully embraced.

Macon, Georgia, named a street after its favorite son. And Little Richard was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In August 2002, he announced his retirement from live performing. But he continued to appear frequently on television, including a humorous appearance on a 2006 commercial for GEICO insurance.

Richard had hip surgery in November 2009 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and asked fans at the time to pray for him. He lived in the Nashville area at the time.

Former Associated Press Writer Larry McShane continued to this report.

Doctor Who star makes Friday Night Dinner debut as Adam and Jonny bring girlfriends home in cringeworthy scenes – The Sun

DOCTOR Who star Pearl Mackie will make her Friday Night Dinner debut as Jonny’s girlfriend Lucy, in the series six finale.

In the final episode Adam, played by The Inbetweeners Simon Bird, and Jonny, Plebs star Tom Rosenthal, arrive for dinner with their girlfriends, who are both called Lucy.

In the opening scenes of Friday Night Dinner, the Goodman brothers are a bit worried about introducing their new love interests to their parents.

Adam and Jonny feel the need to go into the house to set some ground rules, but their girlfriends see right through their plan.

It’ll be a cringe-fest race to dessert for viewers to see if their mum and dad, Jackie, played by Tamsin Greig, or Martin, played by Paul Ritter, embarrass them or not. But we're guessing they probably will – what are parents for?

Fans of the show would have spotted a glimpse of Pearl and Rebecca Humphries, who plays Adam's partner, in the show in the season six premiere.

In an effort to cheer their mum up, Adam and Jonny had reluctantly admitted that they both had girlfriends and showed a photo of them.

Pearl played Doctor Who companion Bill Potts, the Whoniverse's first ever openly gay character.

The 32-year-old was a hit with fans but the character didn’t continue when former Doctor Peter Capaldi left.

Friday Night Dinner airs the season six finale on Friday, May 1 at 10pm on Channel 4.

Fauci says coronavirus tests need to double before lockdowns are lifted

Dr. Anthony Fauci has warned that coronavirus testing needs to at least double before lockdowns are lifted — even as some states have already started re-opening parts of their economies.

The US currently gets through about 1.5 million to 2 million tests a week, which America’s top infectious disease expert says is still nowhere near enough to get a safer grip on the contagion’s spread.

“We probably should get up to twice that as we get into the next several weeks, and I think we will,” Fauci told the National Academy of Sciences annual meeting, according to Politico.

The White House coronavirus task force member said that adequate testing should “get those who are infected out of society so that they don’t infect others,” according to the report.

He said it is important to “have enough tests to respond to the outbreaks that will inevitably occur as you try and ease your way back into the different phases.”

Equally important would be taking any re-opening step-by-step rather than rushing straight in, he cautioned.

“Any attempt to leapfrog over these almost certainly will result in a rebound, and then we can set ourselves back,” he warned of rushing through step-by-step re-opening.

“If we don’t get control of it we will never get back to normal. I know we will, but we’ve got to do it correctly.”

Fauci also cautioned against rushing tests of possible COVID-19 treatments.

“We need something out there, but safety and efficacy is something we owe to the global population,” he told the meeting.

Venom 2 Reveals Its Violent New Title as the Film Is Pushed Back to Summer 2021

Tom Hardy’s Venom sequel has a new title to live up to its carnage.

The upcoming second installment to his 2018 film has an official title, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Along with the new title, Sony Pictures also revealed the film wouldn’t debut on Oct. 2 anymore.

Instead, the sequel will hit theaters on June 25, 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Hardy, 42, is set to reprise his role of Eddie Brock/Venom while Woody Harrelson is set to play the supervillain Carnage.

The news comes a day after it was announced Robert Pattinson’s The Batman had also been pushed back to October 1, 2021, from the expected June 25, 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film’s release shift comes due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which has pushed back several films already beginning with Daniel Craig’s highly-anticipated No Time To Die, as well as Black Widow and Mulan.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, which is another Warner Bros. film, hasn’t yet shifted from its July 17, 2020 date.

THR reported The Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark would be delayed from Sept. 25 to March 12, 2021, while Will Smith’s King Richard, in which he plays the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, will be delayed a full year from Nov. 25, 2020, to Nov. 19, 2021.

Stacey Solomon asks if it is normal to have grey hair ‘down there’ at 30 & says it resembles a ‘Cruella de Vil wig’

STACEY Solomon asked fans a rather intimate question last night as she soaked in the bath.

The Loose Women star said she was “asking for a friend” when you get grey hair all over your body and queried if it’s normal to have a “Cruella de Vil wig down there” at 30.

The down-to-earth TV personality had been answering questions she had received last night, but decided to sneak in one of her own.

Stacey said: “Also this is not an inbox but asking for a friend.

“When do you get grey hair all over, because I’m pretty sure that at 30 it is not normal to have what can only be described as a terrible Cruella de Vil wig down there. Ponder that.”

It’s not the first time Stacey has opened up to fans, and the relatable mum-of-three previously revealed she is not shaving her "abominable snowman" legs during lockdown.

Stacey admitted feeling "really nervous" about coronavirus and has been practising self-care as she bunkers down at home with her family.

"I know what you're thinking… 'if she has to self-isolate maybe she will finally take some time to shave those abominable snowman legs'," Stacey wrote on her Instagram story and adding laughing face emojis.

"I might maybe, probably not."

The TV favourite has always been brutally honest when it comes to body hair, regularly showing off her unshaven armpits as she confessed she doesn't have time to keep up with grooming as the mother of three boys.

In December, she also revealed that she had packed her razors away for winter and will also be letting her leg hair grow freely over Christmas.

Stacey hasn't shied away from intimate matters in her battle to embrace her body hair and proudly admitted that she hasn't shaved her "lady garden" since welcoming her son Zachary 12 years ago.

Stacey lives in Essex with partner and EastEnders star Joe Swash and her sons Zach, 12, Leighton, seven, and baby Rex.

Stacey Soloman dressed Rex up in adorable bunny outfit for Easter as she made festive themed breakfast.

We shared how Stacey has made the most of her time at home by upcycling an old colander into a beautiful hanging plant pot.

And the TV personality showed fans her simple hack to get baby Rex to wear his sun hat and glasses.
