Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Ashley Banjo sent through another semi-finalist to the Britain’s Got Talent final last night. Comedian Nabil Abdulrashid wowed the judges with his set but some ITV viewers weren’t impressed with the decision to omit Beth Porch from their top three.

The NHS nurse and singer impressed viewers with her own song inspired by the key workers in the coronavirus pandemic.

However, her performance wasn’t enough to place her in the top three of all acts last night.

Instead, Nabil, Wesley Williams and Shalom Chorale were whittled down by the four judges.

Alesha, David and Ashley all voted for comedian Nabil to be put through while the public will decide which act out of the remaining semi-finalists will join him in the final.

BGT viewers thought Beth deserved a place in the top three and took to Twitter to comment.

One said: “#BGT Inexplicable that @bethporch_did not make it even into the top three; the most talented performer by far. Another fix. Won’t be watching the final.”

“@BGT load of s**t How wasn’t @bethporch_ & @AidanMagician in the top three? Absolutely madness #BGT #BritainsGotTalent #Fix #Rubbish #Joke,” another shared.

“Were the judges watching something completely different to the public tonight?? #BGT,” a third wrote.

While another added: “Doesn’t it seem like the judges already know who they’re going to stand for and who not…Reckon they should’ve stood up after Beth’s song, just as a thank you to the NHS. #BGT.”

“How is it that Beth – NHS hero – missed out on the judges’ vote / top three but a unicycle crazy guy did?! This is just ridiculous! @BGT #BritainsGotTalent #bgt,” a fifth tweeted.

Someone else questioned: “How was Beth our NHS hero not in the top three?! VOTE for her! #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

Meanwhile, Alesha’s golden buzzer act earned his spot in the final after a hilarious routine taking aim at racism.

Nabil opened his act by joking about being mistaken for British rapper Big Narstie by a police officer.

He added: “People watching will think that it’s another of one of those Black Lives Matter guys doing jokes about stop and search – no, it’s a joke about being fat.

“Big Narstie and I are both fat, we just both happen to be black too. Don’t throw in the race card, guys.

“When do black people ever get mistaken for each other? Especially not by the police. No!

“Listen, I didn’t even want to come out here and talk about race, but seeing as we’re on the topic…”

Praising his performance, Alesha said: “I really loved it. I mean the reason I pressed my golden buzzer is that I love things that are a bit edgy and a bit different and you’re that guy.

“It’s ok to feel a bit uncomfortable with comedy and I think that’s what comedy’s about. I think you’re very brave to take on the subject of racism, very poignant right now.

“And I think we all need to learn to laugh a bit more and have a sense of humour. So well done, I think you should be really proud. It was great.”

Britain’s Got Talent returns on Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
