Coronation Street star teases danger for Asha as Corey revenge plan backfires

Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey has opened up about Asha Alahan's plan to drug evil Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) in a bid to find some more information on the hate crime attack.

The Weatherfield schoolgirl has found herself being drawn unwittingly into the aftermath of Nina Lucas and Seb Frankin's brutal assault in recent scenes.

Fans of the ITV soap are aware Asha is secretly planning her revenge on boyfriend Corey, hoping he’ll slip up and expose his true, evil side.

She decides to vamp up her operation to expose the gang leader boyfriend next week but things take a drastic turn for the worst.

Asha actress Tanisha told Daily Star and other press: "Asha is a smart girl when she's in the right mind and not completely vulnerable.

"She comes up with this plan because she wants to find something. She needs something strong that can win the police over.

"Asha feels so guilty so she needs to find something to make it better for Nina."

The young soap star added: "She knows that what she's trying to get from him she needs to do it smartly and that she can't play dirty because it's already dirty enough."

In upcoming scenes, Asha convinces Corey that she believes he’s innocent and wants to spend the night with him.

Viewers already know that Corey was involved in the horrendous attack which resulted in Seb's tragic death and the hospitalisation of Asha's ex Nina.

Having got the drugs from Seb's grieving mother Abi Franklin (Sally Carman)i, Asha slips them into an oblivious Corey’s drink.

When Abi reveals Asha’s plan to drug Corey and go through his phone, Nina’s shocked to realise Asha’s been playing him.

With Corey unconscious, Asha scrolls through his phone. However, a call from a worried Nina causes him to stir.

As a suspicious but disorientated Corey staggers around a worried Abi and Nina arrive at the flat to save Asha.

Corey tries to barge past the three women but loses his balance and falls down a flight of stairs.

Teasing the aftermath of Corey's tumble, Tanisha explained: "I think hatred completely succumbs her and this thought of 'what do I do?'

"She's 16. There's a person unconscious so what is she going to do?

"Of course, she knows if she gets caught or if someone sees she's going to be in so much trouble."

Remaining tight-lipped about Corey's future, the 18-year-old actress added: "If it was solely up to Asha there'd be a thought of just leaving him but Abi and Nina are there."

As Asha looks down at Corey’s lifeless body the women are left with a decision to make, call an ambulance or leave Corey for dead to pay for what they believe he did to Seb?
