Coronation Street's Amy and Jacob to take HUGE step in relationship – but there's a twist | The Sun

CORONATION STREET stars Elle Mulvaney and Jack James Ryan tease a big future for their loved-up characters.

The actors expressed their hopes for Amy Barlow and Jacob Hay to become the next Jack and Vera in an exclusive interview with The Sun.

Jack revealed his character Jacob was a fan favourite which meant he got asked to come back after his three-month stint.

Speaking to The Sun at the Inside Soap Awards 2022, Elle revealed Amy will embark on a new journey with her current love interest Jacob.

Jacob and Amy will move out of the Barlow's and into a flat shared with Summer and Aaron.

She teased: "There's loads of fun and loads of drama. It's really exciting especially for us to see a whole different dynamic living together."

Jack added how it's a "new chapter" for the couple as they also look for jobs.

He said: "It's going to be a big Christmas for Jacob and Amy that's for sure. It will be explosive and emotional, but also good as well."

Elle recalled the awkward moment she had to first lock lips with Jack at only their second meeting.

She also mentioned how she is still learning to perfect her craft, despite being on the ITV soap for eight years.

Some of her most memorable storylines included getting pregnant at fourteen by Tyler Jefferies and having an abortion.

In 2019, Amy learned that her 20-year-old neighbour Emma Brooker was actually Steve's daughter and her half-sister.

More recently, Amy got involved with Jacob Hay who was a former drugs courier for Harvey Gaskell.

At first Amy's family were against them being together, which made them date in secret and prompted Amy move out.

However, the Barlow's saw how much he has been there for Amy, especially after he saved her life when she was spiked in a club when she turned 18.

What's challenges will the couple face after moving out of the family home?
