Dame Judi Dench ‘disappointed she didn’t film more sex scenes’ – The Sun

DAME Judi Dench may be an esteemed Oscar winning actress, but she has some career regrets, including not doing more sex scenes.

Judi, 85, revealed she felt "disappointed" her acting credits did not involve raunchier numbers.

She told The Mirror: “I have done a few bed scenes. Not many in the theatre. What a disappointment.”

The actress made history this month after becoming the oldest person to appear on the cover of Vogue.

Judi rocked the cover wearing Dolce & Gabbana while the magazine described her as “a kind of cultural tea cosy to be popped soothingly over the nation’s beleaguered identity in times of crisis”.

Her daughter Finty Williams, 47, posted a Twitter saying the Vogue shoot “gave her a little boost of confidence to make her go, ‘Oh, maybe I’m still OK.’ Then of course after the photoshoot, she came back thinking she was Beyoncé.”

Judi's career spanned more than six decades and included seven Academy Awards nominations, all of which she received after turning 60.

She won the Best Supporting Actress gong for her performance in Shakespeare in Love in 1998.

The Bond veteran put her career success down to nothing other than luck.

She said: “It’s really called luck. The whole business of theatre is suddenly being in the right place at the right time and by chance somebody will say, ‘That person might do.’

“It is not really to do with talent I don’t think. It just happens that you fall into the slot at that time.”

To aspiring stars she says: “My advice is go see as much theatre as you possibly can. I think it is very, very difficult. We are just lucky we are employed.”

Judi also admitted to surviving coronavirus lockdown as best she could and was at home in Surrey.

She said: “I’m sure I feel like everyone else. Such unprecedented times are hard to comprehend.

“What is a good thing is that it has made people aware of the predicament of others who are completely alone. If a great deal of kindness comes out of this, then that will be a plus.”

Along with being one of the most celebrated actors in the world, Judi also  v became a TikTok sensation.

The actress was recruited by her grandson Sam Williams to dance it up to Yung Gravy’s song Cheryl.

The short clip opens on a sweatshirt-wearing Sam backing away from his recording device and an iPad with Oscar-winning Judi on it set up in front of the camera.

The background music starts: “Baby, come back, you could blame it all on me. I was wrong and I just can't live without you.”

The duo perform the corresponding dance moves, with both of them holding out their hands, as if they have a cup of juice and sauce in each one, before throwing one of their hands over their shoulder.

The moves only get better from there, with Judi showing off some hip-hop skills and ending the video by smacking the air like she’s hitting someone’s backside.

The clip has now received over half a million views, almost 100,000 likes and more than 800 comments.
