Dancing On Ice cast ‘deeply concerned’ the show will be cancelled due to covid chaos

DANCING On Ice stars fear the show could be cancelled as the new lockdown throws plans into jeopardy.

A source on the show tells The Sun the third lockdown has left everyone scrambling to save the show – due to start next week.

Celebrities including Rebekah Vardy, Billie Faiers and Jason Donovan have been left unable to practice with only 11 days until the live shows.

"Everyone is worried to be honest," a source exclusively tells The Sun.

"They can't practice and the celebs are nowhere near the standard they usually are.

"There's people scrambling around backstage with no real idea how it's going to come together. It's a bit of a mess!"

"They have upped the testing after the number of positive coronavirus results on Strictly," the source continues.

"But the logistics of extra testing, social bubbles and staying distanced in the studio will all need to be worked out ASAP."

The source tells us the cast have praised ITV for doing all they can to keep them safe with regular testing.

And they are hopeful the show will go ahead if they stick to the strict rules.

But everyone is concerned their efforts could be in vain if the new contagious strain rips through the Dancing On Ice camp.

With only 11 days to go the stars would usually be perfecting their moves after months of solid training on the ice.

Now both the celebrities and professional skaters alike are feeling apprehensive about how everything will come together for the live show.

Last year Strictly Come Dancing was thrown into disarray as coronavirus ripped through the show's carefully managed social bubbles.

Nicola Adams was forced to leave the competition after her dance partner Katya Jones tested positive for Covid-19.

Dancing On Ice are desperate not to have their all-star lineup destroyed in the same way and are conducting even more testing.

Despite the challenges, everyone is itching to get back on the ice and bring the jewel of ITV's winter crown to our screens.

An ITV spokesperson said: "We have stringent protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all our contributors and staff which are routinely monitored and updated to reflect the current guidelines."
