‘Drunk’ country star Morgan Wallen arrested for ‘kicking glass’ around Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk – The Sun
COUNTRY singer Morgan Wallen was arrested over Memorial Day Weekend for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside of Kid Rock’s Nashville bar.
Police detained the 27-year-old artist on Saturday night, around 11 p.m., after he was reportedly kicked out of the establishment for unruly behavior.
Morgan was enjoying a night out with friends at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk on lower Broadway when he was allegedly thrown out because he was kicking around glass items inside and refused to stop.
Officers witnessed the club’s bouncers take the Whiskey Glasses singer outside and gave him multiple chances to leave the area with his buddies, but he wouldn’t leave the area, according to arrest records, as reported by WKRN.
Police said he reeked of alcohol and they found him to be a danger to himself and others as they saw him get into verbal altercations with passersby.
Law enforcement placed the Voice alum under arrest and bond was set at $500 for the two offenses.
After being released, Morgan “cleared the air” on Sunday with a couple of tweets about the incident.
He wrote: “I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other.
“We didn't mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.
The singer added: “Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class. Love y’all.”
Morgan will go to court in July for the misdemeanor charges, according to CMT.
