EastEnders fans thrilled as Albert Square legend makes surprise return

EastEnders viewers were thrilled to see a very familiar face back on our screens, as Sean Slater (Robert Kazinsky) made a surprise return to the BBC soap.

In scenes that aired on Thursday 7 April, Sean appeared via FaceTime to speak to both his sister Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and his mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) amid her mental health struggle storyline.

Soap fans watched as Stacey got in touch with her brother after growing increasingly worried about their mum Jean’s state of mind following her recent behaviour.

As she filled him in on what had been going on, including how Jean had made advances towards Rocky (Brian Conley), Sean assured Stacey that that would work things out together.

Sean told Stacey: “We'll suss it out together. We'll make sure it's sorted. Oh, and Stace, calm down love.”

Later in the episode, Sean stuck to his promise and once again appeared during a FaceTime conversation with his mum.

However, his plan soon backfired when Jean started to suspect that Sean and Stacey had been in touch and labelled them “as bad as each other.”

Despite Jean’s somewhat frosty reception, EastEnders fans shared their excitement that Sean, aka Robert, was back on the box.

One wrote on Twitter: “I was SO happy to see Sean again, I love Robert Kazinsky.”

Another was in agreement, adding: “Yay!!! Sean is back!!! Even if it’s a phone call. #EastEnders.”

Meanwhile, others called for actor Rob to make a permanent return to the soap.

One said: “what a moment seeing Sean back in tonight's episode of #EastEnders I hope in the future you return and settle back in I really miss sean and really enjoy how Rob plays him.”

A second commented: “Come home Sean you are missed.”

Viewers last saw Sean in Walford last November, when he made another surprise cameo.

Once again, Sean was back for his family after Jean asked him to meet with Stacey’s wife Eve (Heather Peace) when they returned from prison.
