Inside Jodie Comer’s Relationship With Sandra Oh

Stalking, kissing, and yelling. There might not be a more dysfunctional relationship on television than Killing Eve‘s Villanelle and Eve Polastri. The characters, played by Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh respectively, are fan favorites because of their twisted and vengeful obsession with each other, according to The Wrap. But does their hate for each other extend into real life?

It’s not an unusual question to ask, as cast members on popular television shows often do not get along. Case in point: Grey’s Anatomy — which Oh starred in for ten seasons until her departure in 2013, per The Hollywood Reporter — has had its fair share of drama and feuds. However, it seems like there’s nothing to worry about with Comer and Oh, who share a real-life friendship that’s more like Cristina Yang and Meredith Grey rather than Villanelle and Eve. Keep scrolling to find out more about their friendship and the sweet things they have said about each other.

Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh appreciate each other

While Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh’s characters may have a bizarre and creepy relationship in Killing Eve, they could not be more opposite in real life, as they are obsessed with each other, but in a healthy way, of course. Their friendship may seem unlikely, as the two are often pitted against each other during award season. Comer famously won an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series over Oh in 2019 and had beautiful words to say about her co-star, per The Hollywood Reporter.

“I cannot believe I’m in a category alongside these women, one of them is my co-star, Sandra Oh,” Comer said during her acceptance speech. “Sandra, safe to say… this has been a whirlwind. I’m lucky to have shared this experience with you.” Oh, for her part, jumped out of her seat and hugged Comer when her name was announced and blew kisses to her when she spoke.

According to Oh, their connection was apparent from the beginning. “When we first met and had our first read together, I knew we had good chemistry,” Oh said on The Graham Norton Show in 2020 (via The Daily Mail). “I could just tell because of the way we were listening together and I could actually feel the way we were reacting to each other.”

With Season 4 of Killing Eve in the works, we are sure that these two will be fawning over each other even more during press junkets to come.
