What's wrong with Roy Cropper?
Regular ITV viewers were left in stitches during Monday's (April 17, 2023) instalment of the long-running soap as Evelyn Plummer prepared herself for dancing lessons.
The character portrayed by Dame Maureen Lipman asked Roy Cropper to be her dancing partner but he slipped out early on.
Soap fans believed dancing with Evelyn could have been a bitter reminder of his days with his late wife Hayley.

How long has Roy Cropper been in Coronation Street?
Actor David Neilson has been portraying Roy Cropper for several decades.
The soap star made his Corrie debut in July, 1995, and viewers have grown increasingly fond of his character.
Roy was initially introduced as a side character but was progressively pushed further and further into the spotlight.
In 1995, and after leaving home at a young age to escape a hated stepfather and a difficult childhood, Roy was living on his own at the Crimea Street flats.
He had spent his working life catering in hotels and restaurants until his move to Weatherfield, when he began to work at Jim's Café in Rosamund Street.
After a year there, Roy bought Alma Baldwin's majority share of the business, renaming it Roy's Rolls.
He has managed the café in its current Victoria Street premises since 1999 and lives in the flat above.
However, in late 2021, Roy decided to leave Weatherfield and shocked fans by climbing into the back of a taxi.
His niece Nina Lucas tried to hold him back but there was nothing she could do – Roy signed over his entire estate to her and left the cobbles.
The departure followed a hard-hitting hate crime storyline during which Roy stopped Abi Franklin from killing her son's murderer Corey Brent.
He then agreed to cover up the fact that the gun she had obtained was later used by Harvey Gaskell to kill Natasha Blakeman.
Struggling with the guilt, Roy left the Street in November, 2021, for South America, leaving fans and Corrie residents in tears.
