Throughout the series so far, AC-12 has been on a mission to find out the identity of ‘H’, leaving fans guessing as to who it could be. So far, three corrupt police officers have been caught, including Craig’s character DI Matthew Cottan, ACC Derek Hilton (played by Paul Higgins) and Senior Legal Counsel Gill Biggeloe (Polly Walker). There is still one more senior officer to be uncovered, but, who will it be?

Season six will see Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) reunite as they investigate another corrupt copper.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) has come under their radar, but will she lead them to H? Or is she in fact, H herself?

The upcoming series of the drama is fast approaching and, just like fans, Craig can’t wait to see how it pans out.

The actor, who played Matthew ‘Dot’ Cottan in the first three seasons, said he hopes there will be “more tragedy, tears and deaths”.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com Craig explained he is going to watch the show as a fan and he doesn’t want to know what happens.

“I don’t really want to know,” he began. “Obviously, I’m sure I’d be able to get it out of somebody, but that takes away the fun of the show.”

He went on to add he is happy to go along with whatever plot rolls out.

“No doubt it’s going to leave the audience on the edge of their seat no matter what happens with the story, because that’s the way the show is and that’s the way Jed is,” Craig continued.

Since its launch there has been plenty fan theories as to who H really is.

The latest name to be thrown into the mix is newcomer DC Chloe Bishop (Shalom Brune-Franklin).

DC Bishop will be introduced to AC-12 in the upcoming episodes but not much is known about her character or how she will make her grand entrance into the team.

A fan on Reddit believes that the female members of H are leading the charge and they’re using their allies in the organised crime world to put pressure on the male-dominant force.

Another name added to the list of suspects is none other than undercover cop DI Kate Fleming.

In a recent clip released by the BBC, fans were treated to a first-look of season six and it’s safe to say Kate looked rather shifty.

The 15-second preview showed Superintendent Hastings speaking into a radio along with Steve, who was wearing full protective gear, while Kate stood in front of a car holding a gun.

She was joined by newbie Joanne, who held her hands up in surrender.

Season five of Line of Duty ended with Superintendent Hastings being framed by Gill, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s legal adviser, who was secretly linked to the OCG.

It was Gill who was responsible for undercover police officer John Corbett’s (Stephen Graham) vendetta against the AC-12 leader.

However, despite Kate and Steve proving their boss’ innocence, fans are still convinced that Superintendent Hastings could be up to no good.

Has he been H all along?

Line of Duty returns to BBC One on March 21, with series one to five available to stream on iPlayer
