Love Island 2021 line-up – Hugo Hammond confirmed as first disabled contestant
Hugo Hammond, 24, has been confirmed as the next contestant to enter the Love Island villa.
The P.E Teacher from Hampshire has been "single for a while"
"it’s been really hard to get back into dating. I saw it as an opportunity to have an amazing fun summer and put myself back out there."
Hugo is a Brookes graduate and a trainee PE teacher.
Teaching PE at a secondary school, Hugo absolutely loves his job.
"I love all my sports. It’s great to be able to pass on that enthusiasm to be physically active to the younger generation and hopefully they feel the same about me teaching them."
Not only is the new Love Island hunk a PE teacher, but he has played cricket for England in the past.
Born with clubfoot, he played for England PD (Physical Disability).
"I had lots of operations when I was a kid. You can only really tell when I walk barefoot."
"I’ve got a really short achilles heel. I walk slightly on my tip toes." He said.
Hugo will be the first contestant to enter the villa who has a disability.
The 24-year-old Islander-to-be has been all over the world to play cricket, so is no stranger to warmer climates!
Hugo has just 2,400 followers on Instagram, but this is set to rocket as he enters the famous villa next Monday (June 28).
Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 28th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox
