Lucy-Jo Hudson reveals she felt ‘out of control’ during ‘terrifying’ birth ordeal – The Sun

SOAP star Lucy-Jo Hudson has revealed details about the traumatic birth of her son.

The Hollyoaks actress has admitted the ordeal was 'terrifying' and she felt 'out of control'.

The 36-year-old actress told OK! magazine: "I felt a bit out of control with how fast it happened and how painful it was.

"His heart rate and oxygen levels dropped. He was getting stuck, we couldn’t get him out.

"A doctor came in and that’s when I knew things had got serious. It was terrifying because you just want your baby to be OK."

Her new son Carter's heart rate and oxygen levels dropped during the trauma and he kept "getting stuck".

The soap actress was a matter of minutes away from having to carry out a caesarian if the baby wasn't able to get out naturally.

Fortunately, within ten minutes she was able to give birth without the intervention.

Elsewhere in the interview, Lucy-Jo opened up on the heart-warming reason behind the choice of her son's name.

The TV star already has daughter Sienna-Rae with her ex Alan Halsall – and now she has baby boy Carter with partner Lewis Devine.

With the children due to have different surnames, the actress has given them both the same middle name so they can share a bond, Sienna-Rae and Carter Ray.

She said: "As her full name is Sienna-Rae, he thought if we gave Carter the middle name Ray it would connect them a bit more. It was such a lovely idea – Sienna was beaming when she found out."

The mum-of-two wrote on social media: "Good morning you lovely lot…. I have been so desperate to share our little man with you all… and here he is!!

"Meet Carter Ray. @lewisdevine and I are so very proud of him, he is an absolute dream, I’m not even just saying it! He has fitted into our lives so well…. We all adore him, especially Sienna 💗💙.
