Recent posts on social media have been teasing the return of popular Spanish series Money Heist for Part Five. The complex thriller has proved an international hit for Netflix thanks to its compelling characters and shocking twists. In one of the series’ biggest surprises yet, Pedro Alonso has teased on Instagram his character Berlin could be brought back from the dead.

After wrapping up the Spanish series’ fourth instalment on Netflix, the cast, crew and production team of Money Heist have confirmed filming for Part Five is back in business.

Álex Pina’s wildly successful crime drama was put on hold following the outbreak of coronavirus this year, leaving fans unsure when the next season would finally surface.

Thankfully, recent posts on Instagram from the show’s studio Vancouver Media, along with the cast, have revealed the production team is following safety precautions to get Part Five up on Netflix as soon as possible.

No release date has been set, but there have already been several clues for how Money Heist Part Five will continue.

Following the latest finale, The Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) will once again find himself in deep water after Alice Sierra (Najwa Nimri) discovers his hideout.

Meanwhile, a cryptic Instagram post from fan favourite Berlin (Pedro Alonso) has tipped fans off to a stunning development in Part Five.

The Professor’s brother and professional jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa, known by his alias Berlin, bravely sacrificed himself to ensure the team’s escape at the end of Part Two.

However, Alonso reprised his role in flashbacks in Part Three, which revealed more about his earlier life as a career criminal.

A ratos.

As production continues on Money Heist’s highly anticipated fifth outing, Pedro Alonso took to Instagram and revealed he will once again be returning as Berlin.

He captioned his new post in Spanish, but one fan was able to provide a rough translation.

Alonso wrote: “I just had my hair cut, tried on clothes. They all wore masks. That at times seemed like the Pentagon. Or one of Spielberg’s movies about meetings in who knows where.

“The fact is that soon I will be him again. It’s called Berlin and it’s pure love. Sometimes.”

Although Alonso’s comments revealed the atmosphere on set is very different in the wake of coronavirus, he also confirmed Berlin will be back for Part Five.

From his cryptic caption, fans are still unsure whether the new season will feature more flashbacks or if Berlin could actually be resurrected in the present day.

When viewers were tipped off to Alonso’s post on Reddit, one fan commented: “If Berlin can come back, than Nairobi can too? Please?”

Many fans were outraged when Nairobi (Alba Flores) was brutally killed off at the end of the last season.

So far, Money Heist hasn’t featured any supernatural twists, so it’s unlikely Berlin and Nairobi could actually rise from their graves in the next part.

However, the series has featured plenty of convoluted twists in the past, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that one or both of the characters faked their death to make a surprise return in Part Five.

No release date has been set for the next season, so fans will just have to wait and see how Berlin makes his anticipated comeback when Money Heist eventually continues.

Money Heist Parts 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
