Phillip Schofield returns to This Morning after brothers conviction
Phillip Schofield thanks fans for the support
On Monday’s instalment of This Morning, hosts Rochelle Humes and Phillip Shofield introduced viewers to today’s show. However, before delving into what they’d be speaking about for the next two hours Phillip took the time to thank viewers for their kind messages during his time off.
At the end of March, the long-running This Morning presenter took time away from the ITV series and was replace with a series of hosts.
Before his co-host Holly Willoughby headed off on Easter break, she fronted the programme with Alison Hammond and Joel Dommet.
Phillip’s prolonged absence comes after his brother Timothy stood trial at Exeter Crown Court and was convicted of 11 sexual offences involving a child between October 2016 and October 2019.
On Monday morning, Phillip returned to This Morning where he had a message for viewers watching.
He told viewers: “I wanted to say that it is really lovely to be back. I have missed the show and everyone here.
“And also to you, I wanted to say thank you for all your kind messages and support, which were really appreciated so thank you very much indeed.”
The presenter was expected to return on Monday with Holly but she was missing from the show due to a health issue.
Instead, stand-in Rochelle Humes was fronting the show as Phillip explained: “Holly isn’t well today, so sadly she’s off today and perhaps a few more days with a bout of shingles, ouch!
“So, if you are watching at home Holly, get well soon.”

On Sunday afternoon, Holly confirmed she’ll be missing from the show a little longer following her two-week break.
She told her Instagram followers in a post they may not be seeing her on-screen for at least another extra week while she recovers.
Posting to her Instagram story, she wrote: “Hi, just to let you know, I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles.
“I’ll be back as soon as I’m better. Huge love.”
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am
