Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond's daughter Alex gets married as star's husband attends wedding with neck brace after crash
PIONEER Woman Ree Drummond's daughter Alex tied the knot, with the star's husband Ladd attending the wedding in a neck brace.
Ladd broke his neck in a horrific truck smash at their Oklahoma ranch in April.
But there were smiles all around as the couple watched their eldest daughter, 23-year-old Alex, get married to her boyfriend Mauricio Scott on Saturday.
Ree's three youngest children, Todd, 16, Bryce, 18, and Paige, 21, were also there for their sister's special day.
Paige shared a selfie of herself with the bride and groom at the wedding reception and simply captioned it: "Married!!!!!"
Before the ceremony began, Ree, 52, posted a snap of herself with Ladd overseeing last minute rehearsals for the big day.
She captioned the picture: "Our honeymoon baby is getting married tonight. (TMI?😂)."
She then shared another pic of them together, with Ladd's neck brace on show.
Ree wrote: "Love you, Ladd. (A lot)."
An array of photos and videos were shared to Alex's social media page from the big day, showing a gorgeous flower-filled marquee, a spectacular six tier wedding cake and well-thought out table settings.
Guests were entertained with a live music set and as the night went on, filled glow in the dark shot glasses were on offer.
Towards the end of the night, the new Mr. and Mrs. Scott were seen walking along a path lined by their friends cheering and holding sparklers.
Egged on by pals, Mauricio dips his new wife and gives her a kiss on the lips.
In March, the Food Network star’s husband, Ladd, and her nephew, Caleb, were involved in a collision while battling a grass fire on their family's Oklahoma ranch.
Firefighter Caleb, 21, suffered injuries to his head, internal torso, arm and leg in the accident when he was thrown 70 feet from his emergencyvehicle, after colliding with another fire truck – driven by his uncle.
Days later Ree revealed Ladd had broken his neck during the incident, despite refusing medical attention at the scene.
Ree explained in a blog post: "This was partly because he wanted the paramedics to focus on Caleb, partly because he was still a little stunned by the accident, and partly because cowboys don't like to admit when they're hurt."
Following the accident, Ladd was able to drive himself to the hospital but felt stiff.
He learned of his injuries at the hospital, as Ree wrote: "Evidently one of the two fractures was very close to being catastrophic."
Ladd then went into surgery, where a few rods and "other hardware" were used to stabilize his severe fracture.
She continued in the blog: "He will have to wear a neck brace for several weeks to let the other fracture heal, and the girls and I will bling out the brace for Alex's wedding…but we are just grateful he will be here for Alex's wedding."
Ree is best known as a homestyle chef, blogger, food writer, photographer and TV personality, while she also has her own TV show called The Pioneer Woman on Food Network.
