Spoilers: Emmerdale star teases Vanessa and Kirin showdown
Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) may be forced to face a blast from the past in coming episodes as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) discovers they will need Kirin Kotecha’s permission to proceed with the adoption of Johnny in Emmerdale.
Vanessa recently asked her fiancee to adopt her son as she continues her bowel cancer battle and Charity is keen to get the ball rolling. But with Rakesh uncontactable, Charity knows she is going to have to track down Kirin.
Which might be hard, given that he is on the run after running over and killing Tess.
While Emmerdale have not confirmed a return at this stage for Kirin, there’s every chance that Vanessa is going to have to confront him – and Michelle has warned us that it would be quite a tense reunion given how things ended!
She told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think with everything that Vanessa is going through, she will probably be grateful to let Charity and Rhona get on with finding Kirin. It’s one less stress for her.
‘If Vanessa came into contact with Kirin there would be so many questions. Let’s not forget he’s on the run for the hit and run where he killed Tess who was originally married to Pierce. I don’t think it would be a pleasant meeting!’
That may well be an understatement – but perhaps a recipe for some actioned drama. And Michelle added that Vanessa is 100% on board with Charity being a mum to Johnny.
The star stated: ‘I do believe that Vanessa thinks Charity will be a good influence on Johnnys life if something were to happen to her.
‘That’s why she initially asked her in the first place. Charity has come a long way in these last few years and Vanessa knows she wouldn’t let her down regarding her son.’
But she added: ‘Vanessa is petrified of what may happen to her in the future. I think she goes through phases of being stoic and strong but then obviously does have her wobbles which is to be expected.’
