Strictly's Shirley Ballas admits to PUNCHING her love rival in the face after she was told 'I f****d your husband'

STRICTLY Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas said she once punched a love rival in the mouth – leaving her "rolling away".

The 60-year-old explained that the showdown took place at a dance contest after the women told her: "I f***ed your husband."

The claims appear in the former pro dancer's autobiography Behind The Sequins.

The feisty judge saw red after her love rival drunkenly admitted the revelation.

The TV personality explained in her auto-biography: "The woman in question sidled up to me, clearly the worse for a drink or two, and said, 'You and I need to talk.'

"Suddenly, it seemed as if everything went into slow motion as I turned round to face her, just as she said, "You need to get used to the fact that I f****d your husband.

"There was a little white angel on one of my shoulders and a little red angel on the other one.

"The white angel told me, 'keep walking', while the red angel said, 'sock her in the gob'. So that's what I did.

"I punched her and she rolled away. I'm not proud."

The fisticuffs happened at none other than the British National Dance Champions.

Shirley said she initially thought her husband Corky might be having an affair after he started to come home late each night.

Her ex made the excuses that he was 'fixing the lightbulbs' of a young dancer.

The pair had married in 1985 but separated in 2007 and had son Mark in 1986.

Shirley left her then hubby for Corky — but he says their 23-year marriage was marred by rows and her fearsome temper.

He also spoke of how he went on to enjoy a five-year romance with Strictly’s Kristina Rihanoff.

Corky, now 56, first saw Shirley — then wed to pro dancer Sammy Stopford — at a competition in Montreal, Canada, in 1982.

They started an affair after he begged the couple for lessons.

Liverpool-born Shirley had been engaged to dance star Nigel Tiffany before leaving him and marrying Sammy in 1980.

Corky and Shirley’s volatile marriage finally collapsed in 2003.

A year later he started a romance with his dance student, future Strictly star Kristina.

He admitted: “I coached Kristina, and there was an attraction there, so we got together.

"Kristina and Shirley are very similar personalities.

“We dated for five years but split up because Kristina got the Strictly job and moved back to London. Long distance is really tough.”

The relationship recently sparked speculation of a rift between Kristina and Shirley.

But both have dismissed the rumours, claiming to have met as friends.

In January 2019, The Sun exclusively revealed that Shirley was dating panto star Daniel Taylor.

The couple met during rehearsals for Jack And The Beanstalk, which they starred in together over Christmas.

Shirley was previously a judge on the American version of Dancing With The Stars.
