Stu Carpenter gets huge payout after prison ordeal in Coronation Street | The Sun
VIEWERS were shocked when Stu Carpenter was arrested for the murder of his former lover Charlie Walters.
After weeks of turmoil, he was finally proven innocent and the Coronation Street chef finds out he's due a huge payout.
Fans of the Manchester-based drama will remember how Stu Carpenter was thrown into prison and turmoil when the death of his lover Charlie Walters became the talk of the cobbles.
The Speed Daal chef portrayed by Bill Fellows was arrested, accused of the crime, and lost all support he'd managed to get in Weatherfield.
However, his daughter Bridget soon confessed she was the one to blame and her mother, Lucy, helped her cover everything up.
Stu was released from prison and allowed to get on with life but he then had to take in his granddaughter Eliza as her own mother paid for her crime.

Coming up on ITV, months after the ordeal, Stu is shocked to hear he stands to get around £200K compensation.
But not all is well for him – he's devastated to discover that Eliza is being bullied at school because her mother has gone to prison.
Stu decides to have a meeting at the school and when he returns, he tells Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) that the Head suggested Eliza would be better off in another establishment.
Yasmeen agrees and reckons a fresh start could be the answer to Eliza's troubles.
