Top ITV News journalist Emily Morgan, 45, dies as network pays tribute to 'incredibly talented, remarkable colleague' | The Sun

ITV News reporter Emily Morgan has died, the broadcaster has announced.

The 45-year-old – who was the channel's health and science editor – passed away following a short battle with lung cancer, ITN said.


In a statement on Twitter, the news network said they were "devastated" by the passing of their "remarkable colleague".

They added: "Emily was a hugely talented journalist and a much-loved friend and mentor to so many here. She will be greatly missed.

"Our thoughts are with Emily’s family."

The mum had worked for ITN for 23 years and reported from hospital wards during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paying tribute to his "remarkable colleague", Andrew Dagnell, editor of ITV Network News, said he and colleagues were deeply saddened by Emily's passing.

He added: "Emily's passion for the role was evident in everything she did and her work was a constant reminder of why journalism matters.

"Our thoughts are with Emily's family. Emily was proud to be a journalist, but she was even more proud of her family.

"She adored them. We are sending them our love and support at this unthinkably difficult time.

ITV News' Royal Editor Chris Ship also paid tribute to Emily, remembering her as "such a beautiful person and a dear friend".
