Vikings season 6 part 2: Will King Harald die in England?
Vikings: King Harald falls to the ground during dramatic battle
Vikings season six, part two, is due to land on Amazon Prime Video on December 30, and the story will pick up amid the Rus battle. During the first half of the season, King Harald (played by Peter Franzén) was badly injured and fans have since learned he survived the attack. But some viewers believe he will see his demise during a Viking attack on England, and Express.co.uk spoke to this show’s creator, Michael Hirst.
Will King Harald die in England?
Season six of Vikings is the final instalment of the historical drama, and fans are expecting some loose ends to be tied up in part B.
They had feared for Harald’s future after he was injured during the battle against Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) and Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen).
However teasers for the final 10 episodes have shown Harald is alive, and fans are keen to find out what is in store for his character.
He had dreamed of becoming the King of Norway, but his reign is in question in the final episodes. During another of his final scenes in part A, he was seen sexually assaulting Bjorn’s wife Ingrid (Lucy Martin), so fans will be waiting to find out whether he will pay for his actions.
Another prediction for King Harald is that he will follow some of the Vikings to England, for a final battle against Alfred, King of Wessex (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo).
Viewers have taken to Reddit to discuss their thoughts on Harald’s final moments, with Andrsn_ saying: “Ivar makes a deal with Harald and they go to England together to fight Alfred. Ivar and Alfred go to battle. Harald dies.”

The show’s creator, Michael Hirst, spoke to Express.co.uk about the fact he had thought about killing off Harald’s character numerous times.
He said: “I expected to have killed off Harald several times but he just simply refused to die. Franzén is wonderful.
“He’s got just about the only amusing lines in the show and his sense of irony is quite English. He delivers these lines wonderfully.”
He revealed Harald continues to have some wonderful lines in the final 10 episodes, which reinforce his indestructibility.
Hirst said Harald had “remarkable longevity”, so viewers will be interested to see if his life finally comes to an end before the series has finished.
While plenty of other fans have supported the first theory, some have said Harald will instead live on to marry Bjorn’s wives.
New-Abbreviations442 said: “I think Björn dies after the conflict with the Rus is resolved, and Harald marries his wives.
“If you pause the trailer and take a close look at that scene with Gunnhild wearing white, you can see Harald and Ingrid behind her. I think that’s their wedding, not Bjorn’s funeral. Gunnhild kills herself at the wedding.”
Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) was Bjorn’s first wife and she did not take well to the news that Bjorn also loved Ingrid.
Harald had made it his mission to take everything Bjorn wanted for his own, and fans believe this is likely to continue.

Hirst said the final 10 episodes will focus on a new battle in Wessex, with King Alfred making a stand against the Vikings.
Yet it has not been revealed whether Harald will be a part of the battle, or whether it is Ivar who will face the Wessex king.
He said: “At the start of these last episodes all of Ragnar’s [Travis Fimmel]sons are still alive, although Bjorn, his eldest son, as we know, is badly wounded. He has returned to Kattegat. He has returned home.
“We also know that the Rus armies are invading his home and two of his brothers, Ivar and Hvitserk [Marco Ilsø], are with them.
“That situation must somehow be resolved, for there is another theatre of war – one that we have already visited many times – which will come back into play during these final episodes.
“I’m talking about Wessex, the last Saxon kingdom left in England, ruled now by King Alfred, who has gone down in history as Alfred the Great,
scourge of the Vikings.”
King Harald’s character is based on the real-life Harald Fairhair, who was the first King of Norway from 872 until 930.
He is believed to have died in Norway in 932, so if the series continues to follow real historical events, Harald may not die in England.
Harald has become the character that fans love to hate, and they were glad to see he had survived the Rus battle.
In the trailer for the final 10 episodes, Harald is heard saying: “For a Viking, death is bliss.”
With this in mind, it seems Harald is not afraid of dying, as he knows he will pass on to Valhalla – and lead a new life after death.
