Yes, Frankie is old enough for Mick's abuse story to make sense in EastEnders
Yes, Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) must have a good skincare routine but those taking the time to slam EastEnders for ‘retconning’ Mick’s (Danny Dyer) ge need to sit down and listen for a moment.
Because, the actual subject matter of the abuse storyline is at risk of getting lost among the ‘how is she even old enough’ Twitter debate.
Thankfully, Google exists and a quick search will confirm that Rose is 30-years-old. Yep, I’m jealous too but it’s true!
And with Mick being 42, that means it fits in with the timescale that EastEnders are selling.
Perhaps the ambiguous ages were intended deliberately so that Frankie wouldn’t click right away that Mick was only 12 rather than being an adult participant in an affair with her mum Katy.
Either way, it’s time to put the debate to bed because there is no debate.
EastEnders has been preparing this storyline for a long time and worked closely with SurvivorsUK and NSPCC in ensuring accuracy throughout.
If they were going to slip up, it wouldn’t be at the first hurdle of getting their Maths wrong.
The story is set to take an even more painful turn as Mick currenly believes that Katy has done nothing wrong.
