Body of woman found on popular beach in Dorset – The Sun

THE body of a woman has been found on a beach at a popular seaside resort.

Emergency crews were scrambled to Avon Beach in Christchurch, Dorset, yesterday after the grim discovery was made.

Police said her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The beach was closed off and a white forensic tent erected on the sand as police investigated yesterday.

Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 5.27am on Monday, May 18, that the body of a woman had been found at Avon Beach near Christchurch.

"Officers attended along with the ambulance service and sadly it was confirmed the woman had died.

“Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the woman’s identity and inform her next of kin.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

It comes after the bodies of two women were found at the bottom of a cliff in Peacehaven, East Sussex yesterday.
