Ex-MP Charlie Elphicke dumped on Twitter by wife minutes after being found guilty of groping women in sex attacks

FORMER Tory MP Charlie Elphicke has been found guilty of three sex attacks after groping the breasts of two younger women.

Elphicke, 49, bowed his head as he was convicted following a three-week trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Wife Natalie Elphicke, who succeeded him as Dover MP in 2019, announced the jury's verdict spelled 'the end of my 25-year marriage' just minutes later.

She wrote on Twitter: "Today's verdict is one that brings profound sorrow. It ends my 25-year marriage to the only man I have ever loved.

"I would ask for some personal space and time to come to terms with the shocking events of the last three years. I will not be commenting further."

The dad-of-two carried out the first attack while Natalie was away from their home in Belgravia, central London.

He invited the victim, who was in her early 30s, to his family townhouse in 2007.

After groping the woman's breast, the court heard Elphicke chased her around his kitchen chanting “I’m a naughty Tory”.

The victim – who cannot be named for legal reasons – said she found Elphicke “physically repulsive” but had stayed silent about the attack to protect his young family.

The Dover MP opened a bottle of £40-wine and began asking her about her sexual interests, including if she liked "lace and leather", and saying he liked "bondage and whips".

He then assaulted her on the sofa, reaching into her top to grope her right breast and trying to kiss her.

Prosecuting, Natalie Dawson said: "She (the alleged victim) immediately shouted: 'No!'

"She was shocked. The whole incident was completely unexpected.

"He was chanting in a sing-song way: 'I'm a naughty Tory, I'm a naughty Tory', as though it was the school playground."

Nine years later, the perv MP twice sexually assaulted a young parliamentary worker in her early 20s before telling her "not to blab".

The woman said she found herself in Elphicke's company sharing a bottle of champagne in Westminster when he allegedly assaulted her.

He shoved his hand down her top and grabbed her breasts before running his hand up her thigh and asking her to put sunscreen on him.

She told the court: "He had his face on (my) face.

"He had his mouth open, continually trying to kiss me.

"It was like a disgusting slobbery mess."

The prosecutor said the woman "clearly rejected" Elphicke, told him he was married, and that there was a large age gap.

Elphicke was said to have replied: "What's the matter? Don't you like me? Everything's fine."

He later told the victim: "I knew you'd bring my age into it."

Elphicke sobbed through evidence during the trial and will be sentenced on September 15.

He was Dover MP from 2010 to 2019 and was succeeded by his wife when he stood down.

Mrs Elphicke arrived hand-in-hand with her husband on the first day of the trial and Elphicke told jurors she had accompanied him every day as they attempted to salvage their marriage.
