How long can I exercise for every day?

The British public are only allowed to leave their homes for certain reasons, including to go shopping for essentials or if you are seeking medical assistance.

This is as long as they are not considered an at-risk person, for example pregnant women or those over 70.

Exercise is also allowed with leaving your hose to do so just once is the recommendation – or in Wales' case, it is the law.

There is currently no set limit to how long you can exercise for, but this could change.

Could exercise be banned?

Although exercise is important for a number of reasons, including improving your mental health and for keeping fit, some people have come under fire for breaking the isolation rules.

At the weekend, police had to tell park-goers and sunbathers for relaxing in the park, especially those congregating in large groups – where the risk of spreading coronavirus is at its highest.

This led to Health Secretary Matt Hancock claiming that further flouting of the rules would lead to exercise bans.

On the Andrew Marr show at the weekend, he said: "We've said because of the positive benefits to your physical and your mental health that it's OK to exercise on your own or with members of your own household.

"But if the result of that is that too many people go out and flout the other rules because they say 'well if I can exercise then it's fine for me to do other things' then I'm afraid we will have to take action.

"If you don't want us to take the step to ban exercise of all forms outside the home, you have got to follow the rules.

"Let's not have a minority spoiling it for everybody."
