Ilhan Omar branded ‘dangerous’ by Trump campaign chief who says most ‘don't recognize what Dem party has become’

ILHAN Omar was branded “dangerous” by Trump’s campaign chief, who said most Democrats “don’t recognize” what the party has become.

Bill Stepien, one of the President’s top aides, claimed that Rep. Omar was “the most extreme” member of the party – as the Trump campaign stepped up attempts to wrestle Minnesota from the Democrats.

In a call last Friday with various media outlets, reported by Newsweek, Stepien said that “common sense” Democrats didn’t recognize the party anymore.

He said: “Everywhere else in the state you have common-sense Democrats who don't recognize Joe Biden's Democrat Party anymore.

“They don't recognize what it's become.”

Stepien also claimed that Omar was pushing Biden to the left on issues such as the environment and policing.

He added: “We know what she wants to do, she wants to defund the police, she is pushing for the Green New Deal.”

The US Sun has reached out to a representative for Rep. Omar for comment.

Trump’s campaign has made repeated swipes at the freshman congresswoman, with the President recently telling a rally in Michigan that Omar “truly hates our country”.

He added: “We’re going to win Minnesota because of her”.

The President has made aggressive plays for Minnesota during the election campaign, despite Democrat victories in nearly all elections across five decades.

Trump narrowly lost the state by just a point in the 2016 election.

However, analysis of recent polls by RealClearPolitics puts the Democratic presidential candidate ahead by 6 points in the midwestern state.

It comes as Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to travel to Minnesota on the campaign trail later today.
