Motorcyclist, 36, killed in Bronx expressway crash: cops

A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he careened into a light pole on a Bronx highway early Thursday, cops said.

The victim was riding south on the Major Deegan Expressway between exits 48 and 47 around 6:10 a.m. “at an apparent high rate of speed” when he lost control, sending him flying from his bike and slamming into a light pole, police said.

The biker, whose name was not immediately released pending family notification, was pronounced dead on scene.

Debris littering the road may have led to the accident, according to police sources.
